To Connect to Lehigh's network from Off-Campus you'll need to use Lehigh's VPN (Virtual Private Network) software.   Lehigh uses Cisco's AnyConnect SSL vpn software to provide this service.  The VPN software provides an encrypted tunnel to Lehigh's campus network.

Step-by-step guide

First Download the software and install it on your computer, phone or other device

  1. Desktop Software can be downloaded from our campus software repository.  You may also be able to install it directly from

    vpn.lehigh.edu.

  2. Android - Search for Cisco Anyconnect in the play store
  3. iOS (iPhone) - Search for Cisco Anyconnect in the Apple Store

Configure it to connect to vpn.lehigh.edu

You will see an option for "GeneralAccess" or "LibraryResources".

GeneralAccess will only route traffic through the vpn tunnel if it's destined for a Lehigh server, while letting all other traffic go out without passing through the VPN.  This is also called "split tunnelling" and should be more efficient than the other option.

LibraryResources will route all traffic through to Lehigh's campus network, so that your device will be virtually attached to the campus network.  This is also called "full tunnelling".  This option is needed to connect to some cloud services that are available when you are coming from an on-campus location.   This option is also need if you are on an unencrypted wireless connection and want to ensure that your traffic is secure.

Note - If you have DUO configured for 2FA, you'll need to enter "push" in the second authentication box in order to generate a push request to your mobile phone.
