VPN

IF off campus or not connected to the Lehigh network, a VPN is required to access LU Apps and Lehigh Network drives such as H and I.  A VPN is a network system that makes a secure connection between a client computer (or device) at a remote location (such as a personal machine at home or off-campus) and a protected, private network (such as Lehigh's campus network) over an otherwise insecure public network (such as the Internet).

(Please note - you must have a chrome book that supports installing android apps to use VPN connection)

To use your chrome book with the LU apps, please install the Cisco Anyconnect app from the Google Play Store.

See Step by Step instructions - https://lts.lehigh.edu/services/stepwise-instructions/configure-vpn-android-devices

Connecting to LU Apps

If you need to use applications that are non-native to chrome OS, you should try LU apps.  LU apps - our virtual software system--, also known as 'application virtualization' technologies, allow users to run numerous programs that aren’t installed on their devices by installing a single piece of client software (Citrix Receiver / Workspace), and using it to connect to a central server on which the programs actually run. This enables Android, iOS or Mac users to easily access software that is only written for Windows, for example. Lehigh now uses Citrix for this, and has a customized implementation called 'LUapps'. See our on demnad software page for a complete list of software available from LU Apps.

To use your chrome book with the LU apps off campus, please install the Cisco Anyconnect app from the Google Play Store.

(Please note:  MUST BE v. 4.8 or newer of the AnyConnect client and downloaded from the Google Play Store NOT the Google web store!)

See Step by Step instructions - https://lts.lehigh.edu/services/stepwise-instructions/configure-vpn-android-devices.

If on campus, you can use Citrix Workspace and no connection to VPN is required to access LU Apps.

Then  install the Citrix Workspace accessing LU apps.

Access your windows machine remotely

Use the Microsoft Remote Desktop app to connect to a remote PC.
