Socrative is a tool for interactive quizzing in your classroom. It can be used in place of traditional clickers. Students are able to log in to your quiz with a mobile device using an app or into a browser window using a computer. You can then show the results on screen in real time from your instructor station. You can set up teams and make a quiz competitive or have each individual complete at their own pace. You can import other quizzes made by other teachers using Socrative.
Please review the following video for an explanation of how to use socrative.
To get started, you will need to set up a free teacher account (https://b.socrative.com/login/teacher/)...a pro account allows for multiple private rooms and up to 150 students, a free account allows for one public room and up to 50 students– see here for complete list of differences (https://help.socrative.com/hc/en-us/articles/220096708-Socrative-Free-vs-PRO). If you do not enroll users in your room – this is considered a public room, and you can make the quiz anonymous. You can also import a roster from Course Site to a room in Socrative. If you would like to use any of the pro features of socrative, please reach out to the instructional technology team by submitting an instructional technology request with the help desk.
