NOTE: Although there is a method in place to calculate letter-based grades, it is highly recommended that an alternative method is used. In most cases, it is possible to associate a number grade with a letter grade. The number grade can be used in the gradebook, but the settings in the gradebook can be changed to ONLY show the associated letter grade. This is a much more accurate way of calculating letter grades.
